Leadership & Governance

Romana Manzoor serves as the director of the Hassan Institute for Interfaith Encounter at American Islamic College. She holds an M.A. in Interreligious Studies from Catholic Theological Union and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Loyola University at Chicago. In addition to coordinating interfaith programming, Romana organizes college programming and is the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Affiliates

Members of the AIC faculty serve as affiliates of the Hassan Institute. Faculty affiliates demonstrate both academic and experiential knowledge regarding Islam and world religions, gender, race, and the many intersecting identity formations that influence one’s worldviews.

Affiliates contribute academic resources and references which provide both students and the wider public with informative material. Affiliates also provide guidance on HI programming and support to HI fellows and students.

Advisory Council

Advisors are appointed by the Director to provide instructive recommendations and counsel regarding HI activities. Advisors are selected based on their own academic and experiential engagement in this field, often holding active positions in a college/university setting or a faith-based not-for-profit dedicated to peacebuilding.
